Confirmed from Deer Park Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“We were a little disappointed that several of the trails were blocked off due to lack of mowing and maintenance done, but we still had a nice time enjoying the beautiful scenery.”

A hidden gem in the city! This is a half mile loop walking trail great for daily walks amongst the wildlife. I have seen coyotes and bobcats in the tall grasses there is also an abundance of snakes, birds, armadillos and rabbits.

Nice place to go for a walk. We were a little disappointed that several of the trails were blocked off due to lack of mowing and maintenance done, but we still had a nice time enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Always a beautiful walk through nature with this place. The trails vary so much and the woody areas are so pretty and nice to be in. But always be prepared with OFF bug spray. Just a heads up! :) oh yea this needs a bigger parking lot :( Edit: Just found out the main loop is 0.8 miles.

Love this trail. Trail is short enough for a quick 10 minute nature reset when you don't have a lot of time.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
