Confirmed from Del Rio Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Del Rio Trail
Great addition to the Sacramento bike trail network and reuse of old rail lines (ala Rails to Trails). Now they need to get the Pocket River trail finished. The people who are blocking it should not have a say on the use of public lands on the levy.
I understand some of the negative reviews but today I rode the trail for the first time and I thought it was great. I rode from Garcia Bend all the way to the bridge crossing. Found out you can actually navigate through it from a local who was riding along the trail so I crossed over I-5 and onto the levy trail.
FINALLY! After a decade of waiting, delays, and reconstruction of the over-the-freeway connector, the 4.8 mile Del Rio Trail is now open. We are all connected to the southern part of Sacramento, which connects to the Sacramento River Trail and the American River Bike Trail.
Love to walk my granddaughter in her stroller. She gets a nap & I get some activity, two birds with one stone.
