Confirmed from DeWitt Recreation Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Relaxing park featuring a pond well stocked for fishing and paths for walking and kayaking.
What runners say about DeWitt Recreation Area
“Clean well kept trails, options for Family friendly activities.”
“This park is simply beautiful during the fall as the foliage turns colors.”
Absolutely my favorite park in town. My son loves the playground, my entire family loves the trails, and my husband and I had our wedding reception here. Just a beautiful park and a great place to get away too
One of my favorite places in Batavia. So pretty and nice for walks and bikes rides, especially now that it connects to the Ellicot trail. Decent playground and pavilions. Good place to catch sunfish. The parks department puts on some neat programming here sometimes.
Very fun nature walk! Found a lot of cool creatures! Brought all the kids, and we had a blast!
Small hike, very mellow. I'd do it again...nice spot to get sun and shut your mind off
Trail conditions & character
“It pleasantly winds around the lake and there are several benches to sit on and enjoy the view.”
“The only downside is it’s literally the only good place in Batavia to bring your dog on a walk and the park has for some reason banned pets.”
“I absolutely love the trail but it has small asphalt like gravel but there is also a 1/4 mile asphalt trail in park.”
