Confirmed from Swallow Hollow Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Swallow Hollow Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (372 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“Enjoy the sights and sounds of nature while walking through a beautiful tree covered canopy.”

👟 good for all levels 3 mentions

“Easy hike, a short loop that’s about 1 mile, easy terrain with some boardwalks which can slippery in the winter”

My family and I have been coming here for years. There is a walking path through the woods and around several wetland and pond areas. The trail is just over a mile long and used by walkers and joggers alike. Enjoy the sights and sounds of nature while walking through a beautiful tree covered canopy.

Great area. ADA accessible for boardwalk part. Off boardwalk can be done but more work involves. Loved the multiple benches to sit along the way to take breaks but to soak in the nature sounds

★★★★★ — Jay , Aug 2022

A trail for nature lovers of all ages. A great place to walk with your family and friends; including furry ones, as long as they are on leashes, well behaved, and cleaned up after. The trail itself is adorned with boardwalks, educational plaques, and benches.

★★★★★ — Mel , Jun 2025

They have multiple different areas where you can park your vechile for free and walk around. The nature trails are beautiful. Some are more nautralbthan others, one is some what like a "cat-walk"/ pier and is very nice over a mile in distance. It's a "carry in, carry out" park and there are no restrooms here.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🪵 Boardwalk 6 mentions

“Other then the bugs this is a flat and wide trail with a long boardwalk over the swaps.”
