We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Dowling Park yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Dowling Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (196 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 10 mentions

“Besides being windy most of the time and the concession stand not being open all the time it's a clean park.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“I also like to just get away from it all by the lake and enjoy the peace and quiet.”

Hammond has been making some huge improvements in the last few years. Dowling park is fitted with a couple trails with different lengths depending on how much walking/biking you want to do. There is pond where you can fish or just watch the birds fly on and off.

Great park for kids . The park itself is new so it is full sun so make sure you have sunscreen. Nice fishing pond right next to it to, with walking trail. 👍😊

I love this place. It's always clean. They just put in a new jungle gym doe the kids. They have a bike trail or a walking trail that is short but has sweet views. The only thing I don't like is there are so many geese around and the leave droppings on the ground. They have a small pond I see many people fishing in.

Love this park. Been going there since I was 10 years old and now I'm 50 and still live a block away. Great place to fish, walk and play on the play ground equipment plus they have a doggie park.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
