Confirmed from Dr Ned and Fay Dudney Clear Creek Nature Center's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Dr Ned and Fay Dudney Clear Creek Nature Center

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (24 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

Nice little park with plenty of birds and about a 2 mile concrete trail. There are 3 bird observation sites but all 3 could use some work. At least 2 of them have palm trees blocking your view of the water area. There are even some deer in the park occasionally.

This is a great walk in town that makes you feel like you’re in the woods walking. I’ve seen plenty of birds and even a little family of 3/4 deer.

★★★★★ — Jessica , May 2024

The parking lot at the Dr. Ned and Fay Dudney Clear Creek Nature Center is on the smaller side, but it is well maintained and easy to get in and out of. The trail itself is pretty short, but since it loops, you can walk it as many times as you want and really take your time enjoying the nature around you.

By far my favorite bird watching trail I’ve been to in the area!! Saw Carolina Chickadees, Carolina Wren, mockingbirds, ruby throated hummingbird, red-bellied woodpecker, downy woodpecker, cardinals and blue jays… heard Great Kiskadee and Cooper’s hawk. Also saw multiple bunnies, a family of deer and an armadillo!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
