Confirmed from DuVal Trail Head's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Well-maintained network of trails winding through lush forests and coastal terrain.
What runners say about DuVal Trail Head
“Great trails well maintained.”
“This trail is beautiful with the wild mountain laurel in bloom, as well as it's more colorful but smaller sheep laurel cousin.”
“Trails are well-marked and you can make it a short, quick hike or a long meander.”
“When you want a nice peaceful walk in nature, then you have found the right place.”
Great, dog-friendly system of trails in the Wakefield area with at least 3 hours worth of hiking. Has a decent bit of elevation change (at least for being in RI) probably due to the glacial activity that took place in the area thousands of years ago.
Nice little hike through coastal forest consisting of oak and quite a few pines. Old stone walls a couple of ponds. Slight hills but wide trails with maps at every intersection.

Great trail to go on. If you continue to the "scenic view" it almost feels like youre getting lost in the woods. There is so many other little side trails aswell so be careful some lead to peoples back yards!
Trail conditions & character
“The trees on this part of the trail struck me as being exceptionally tall, and the loop at the end goes right up along a pond and up into the hills overlooking it.”
