Confirmed from Eastgate Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Park containing trails for walking, cycling and hiking (some muddy), plus picnic spots.

“Very nice extension of the easy trail system from Harrison Nature Center.”

Trails are always well taken care of. Easy to hike through. Plenty of wildflowers and wildlife.

This is a great park with a variety of environments along the trails. There are loops of various lengths that allow for quick 15 minute hikes to 2 hour day hikes. It connects to both Harris Nature Center and Legg via HNC. Highly recommended for anytime of the year.

★★★★★ — Craig , Oct 2019

I gorgeous park with a high and low part for running or walking. It was fun taking a walk here. The wildflowers were so small and fun to photograph.

★★★★★ — Peter , May 2021

Just love to trail down this place in every season. Especially right after snow.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
