Confirmed from Edmondson Trail Head's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

This trail is phenomenal! We walked 45min north of the trail head before returning and we saw an incredible amount of visual interest (going both ways) not captured in any photos from any review (including mine). See it for yourself! P.S.

This trailhead is right off the main road. There is a small parking lot that fits at least a dozen cars. There is a porter potty on-site (not sure if it’s condition/if it’s taken care of or not). The trail starts immediately off the parking lot and easy to follow.

if you like walking paths you will truly enjoy this trail. On the other hand i would not recommend it for bikes because of the loose gravel. the pictures don't do this beautiful nature trail justice, I look forward to coming back again 😎

I needed 10+ miles for running, and my east coast lungs were cautious about attempting a run at the Garden of the Gods (or really anywhere with lots of elevation). I saw this trail and decided to take a chance. I was truly emotionally moved. Starting at Woodmen Road and I-25, you go north for about 1.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
