Confirmed from El Cerro de Los Lunas Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about El Cerro de Los Lunas Trailhead
“Nicely maintained except for all the dog poo, it’s great for exercising your pet but everyone should pick up after their animals.”
“The overlook trail has very beautiful natural flowers and other native plants along the path.”
“Love to run out here a few times a week, great sensory setting and very few people, great for some natural desert views.”
The Overlook and Summit trails are challenging, but worth the effort for the amazing views.
This is a great place to hike with plenty of varying length loops to do. I hiked to the overlook, western peak, and central peak which was about 9 miles in length. The views are great albeit a bit spoiled by the Amazon fulfilment center to the north. There is no water spouts out here so pack plenty.
Fun place with many trails. Dog friendly and bike friendly. We hiked the looked out and it took about 3 hours. Not too bad of a hike either. Will need to come back and check out more! Only two picnic tables and a few places to sit along the trail so come prepared!
Great trail for walking and running. Pet friendly too. Excellent views. For the runner the hills, will give you a moderate /difficult work out. Surface is packed with an ocasional sandy area and easy on the joints. Pack water. None here.
