Confirmed from El Rio Trail Head's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about El Rio Trail Head
“EL Rio Trail Head is a well-maintained bike trail with no motor vehicle traffic, except at a couple of places where it intersects with an artery.”
“Perfect outdoor activity but bring sunscreen as there is very little shade along the trail.”
Really nice trail! Has a small amount of elevation but if you are prepping for a future hike, this might be a good spot to practice. Some wildlife (mostly iguanas, possibly gators) but it's very clean and wide paths. The path is paved asphalt. No water stations but there is a good amount of shade. No dogs allowed.
Great trail for a early morning bike ride. Roughly 8 mile trail if you go the full distance. Super peaceful and water is like glass in the morning. Just be sure to get out early to avoid the crowds..
Very clean, well marked paved trail that was great for a bike ride. Every intersection is marked with flashing lights for pedestrians. Perfect outdoor activity but bring sunscreen as there is very little shade along the trail. Ample parking at Tri Rail station but note that’s somewhat in the middle of the trail.
Very well maintained, beautiful trail that is easily accessible from the Florida Atlantic University campus and the Boca Raton Tri-Rail station. Great getaway from the noise and stress of city life.
