Confirmed from Encke Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Encke Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (167 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 7 mentions

“Cute park with well maintained baseball fields, although no shade in park.”

🌳 shaded & cool 3 mentions

“Cute park with well maintained baseball fields, although no shade in park.”

This place is fantastic and I’m glad to have a park like this around the corner from me. This playground is in good shape, has a nice soft rubber floor and is gated in. The parking is a little off to the side near the government building, and you have to walk over but no big deal.

Great park to bring your children to run around. There is a play ground, bball court, baseball diamond, open field, creek, even bathrooms

★★★★★ — Matthew , Dec 2018

Small community park located in Radnor Township. No pool or walking trails were seen on my visit on Christmas day 2023.

★★★★☆ — Richard , Dec 2023

Great play to play, enclosed playground, fields for running, playing ball, skate park, and lots more.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain

  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
