We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Esom Hill Trailhead yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Esom Hill Trailhead
“Beautiful trail for walking or cycling, clean, and very peaceful, my husband cycles, and I walk.”
Last public parking area before you reach the Alabama/Georgia line on the Chief Ladiga/Silver Comet trail
The scenery on the trail is beautiful from this trailhead. Lots of parking near the trail. Last trailhead in Ga before the start of the Chief Ladiga Trail in Alabama.
Nice shady gravel parking lot just off the Silver Comet Trail, a short distance from the Ga/Al state line. Plenty of parking. The trail from here to Piedmont is really scenic. Gives Blue Ridge/Smoky Mountains vibes. Adding photo from the trail on the Alabama side. 😁
Nice parking area, a little secluded, but great spot to start your ride on trail head for the Silver Comet or Ladiga😎
Trail conditions & character
“No issues, but it is rather remote, so I can see how there might be some issues with car window smash and grabs as indicated in other posts about this parking lot.”
