Confirmed from Pinhoti Trail - Potts Hollow Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Pinhoti Trail - Potts Hollow Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (25 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“There are some beautiful overlooks that's the reason I like to go after the leaves are down.”

🪧 well-marked 2 mentions

“Well marked, very nice trails with views on some of the switch backs.”

From a horse rider perspective it's a 4 out of 5. From a hikers perspective I would give it a 5 out of 5. The horse trailer parking can fit 4 maby 5 and is a bumpy to get to. There are no bathrooms and no water. The trails are marked well but its confusing on how to stay on the loop if you've never been there before.

Great trails. Horse area could use some better trail signage/maps at Keoske, but this is a brand new trail. Also, hopefully bathroom facilities at some point?

My husband and I hiked the Potts Hollow Trail Loop this past week over two different days. It was a great hike on well maintained and well marked trails. The first day we hiked 2 miles in on the "Blue" trail and due to time restraints and not being real sure how long the loop was, turned around and hiked the 2 miles…

The area is beautiful and near quaint small towns. I found a convenient parking lot but was unable to test tril as short on time and late in the afternoon. Will return to try it. Near historically significant Trail OF TEARS driving route.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
