Evans Canyon Trail is a nice trail to hike in the spring when the creek is flowing and the landscape is vibrant and green. The trail is very peaceful and a great short and easy nature hike. There are even views of the Nevada N up on the hillside.
Really impressed with this place! Lots of great trails, little nooks and crannies of cool trees and birds and definitely coming back. Also ....people are here playing " disc golf" --- something I never heard of in my entire life. Looks hard! But people are really enjoying this game. Gorgeous day for a hike.
Crossing Evans creek is required towards the beginning of the hike, but it was easy. The trail is mild as it goes up the canyon. There are a lot of flowers on the hillside in May. Decent views of the city and mountains can be seen while descending.
Lots of trails with varying degrees of difficulty and a few good views. A little crowded on a Summer Sunday morning and you might find yourself dodging the odd mountain bike or golf disk (yes there is a course there), but overall pretty serviceable short hiking and trail running for such a central location.
