Confirmed from Fernandez Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Relaxed place for kids featuring a playground and a baseball field, along with picnic tables.
What runners say about Fernandez Park
“It's really well kept and overall very chill environment.”
“Just Like Alice brought the fun at Pinole Pride with a beautiful KIDZ ZONE: Cirque Activation, Petting Zoo, Face Painters, and Balloonists”
A nice clean safe park to chill at. There is a play ground for very small children with a fence and latching gate, another area with a play structure for bigger kids, basketball hoops baseball field, picnic tables and BBQs, a large grass area to enjoy, a creek (not to play in) with ducks, and a paved walking path that…
Could do with some maintenance and care in their flowered areas, and more consistent bathroom and garbage management... While people in Pinole are generally clean and well minded to throw things away and keep after themselves, there sometimes can be quite a bit of garbage found blown into the creek which needs…
Extremely well managed park next to a cute old-town shopping center and community center with playhouse and youth services. Toddler and kids play spaces with structures. Small grass field with a permanent stage at one end. Several picnic tables and a couple BBQ grills.
Has: 1) a creek that seems to be long enough for serious runners, but enough for a short (read: lazy) walk. One side more lights than the other; 2) a well maintenanced basketball court and a serviceable softball field; 3) gym equipment with weights...

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
