Confirmed from Fingerlakes Trail - Hoxie Gorge Road Acess Trail Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

It's absolutely beautiful and peaceful the trail is a bit on the more experience side though as you traverse the gorge to s beautiful waterfall so not for those with mobility issues.

★★★★★ — Jp , Jun 2021

Good place to access the Fingerlakes trail. Follow the blue blazes to the white blazes, from there you can follow the main Fingerlakes trail either North or South. Either way is some great trail. There is also a Fingerlakes / North Country Trail Kiosk at the trailhead. There is plenty of places to park.

★★★★☆ — Michael , Jan 2018

The perfect balance of untouched wilderness with just enough organization to keep a family on track. Basic trail markers, lots to see, enough elevation change to keep it interesting but not so much that it's a challenge for families with young children.

★★★★★ — Mark , Jun 2019

Beautiful place to go for a hike. Can be a little muddy and wet after it rains and there's sections where little streams run through the trail. Very nice place. Quiet and very peaceful. It's also on a list of old growth forests. So if you're into older trees it's also a good spot.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
