We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Fishkill Ridge Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

It was a nice moderate trail. I hiked in December and there were like areas of ice so I didn't go above the treeline,I was afraid the ice would be worse higher. Trail clean, some small rocks to step over (not flat smooth trail, but not hard hiking). Very peaceful, not too busy.

A great trail with several small waterfalls and a nice river that runs the length. It’s a great spot to go for a hike and is pretty easy footing for most of it.

★★★★★ — Blake , Apr 2025

The hiking of Fishkill and Scofield Ridges are among the best in the entire Hudson Valley, and this is by far the best trailhead to start/end with. However, parking is apparently now prohibited anywhere near this trailhead...epic fail for the City of Beacon.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
