Confirmed from Forney Community Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Forney Community Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (1,700 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 7 mentions

“I wish they would clean the park more throughly like sharp objects may be in the sandbox occasionally but outside out that, it's a fairly enjoyable park to attend.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“I can now confirm the blue jay bird knows me and my boyfriend🤗🤗🤗 there’s lots of different birds and they are all so beautiful!”

This was a pleasant and unexpected stop on our trip—I didn’t get to explore the whole park, but I’m glad we found it! We had our dog with us and needed a good spot to stop after grabbing some Chick-fil-A, and this park came through.

My kids love this park! They have a spray park in the hot summer. The playground is right next to the spray ground. So when it is hot the kids can go back and forth to both. There is also a nice strip of cement around the play area. So for older kids you could walk and they can play. It is also great for strollers.

Our neighborhood park! We come here 1-2 times a week and love to bird watch (that’s why there are lots of bird videos😊) ! I can now confirm the blue jay bird knows me and my boyfriend🤗🤗🤗 there’s lots of different birds and they are all so beautiful!

We visit this park at least once a week! We love walking around the entire park with the kids. They always have nice events and we always take advantage of the free movies during the summer!!! This park is aesthetically pleasing and wonderful during the holidays!!!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 4 mentions

“BJ, Braydon, Jakari were so amazing and courteous and they were even kind enough to offer pup cups for my dogs and they loved it!”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
