Confirmed from Forsyth Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
30-acre park with basketball & tennis courts, paths, a historic fountain & a Confederate memorial.
What runners say about Forsyth Park
“The park is incredibly well maintained, with wide open green space, shaded walking paths, and plenty of spots to sit and unwind.”
“It plays host to daily life, celebrations, relaxation, and community gatherings, all set amidst beautiful Southern scenery.”
“The fountain is iconic, the trees and Spanish moss are gorgeous, and the shaded walking paths make it easy to slow down and enjoy the park.”
Forsyth Park is one of my favorite spots downtown. It’s perfect for a quick workout between appointments and a great way to keep my body moving without missing a beat. The energy is always vibrant with people walking, running, laughing, living. It never feels dull. Being surrounded by shops is a huge plus, too.
Beautiful area! Fountain has been restored and is back up and running. We were there over the New Year holiday. Parking was a little busy, but we finally found a spot close to the fountain as someone was leaving.
We were passing through Savannah and decided to make a stop at the famous Forsyth Park, and we were glad that we did. Besides the famous Victorian-era fountain(which itself is photograph worthy), the park also boasts of winding paths, lush lawns, colorful flower beds and towering oaks with Spanish moss.
Forsyth Park is easily one of the most beautiful and relaxing spots in Savannah. The park is incredibly well maintained, with wide open green space, shaded walking paths, and plenty of spots to sit and unwind. The iconic fountain is even better in person and makes for a great photo.
