Confirmed from Fort Borst Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Fort Borst Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (2,738 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🌳 shaded & cool 4 mentions

“we grabbed up on some takeout food and relaxed in the shade and enjoyed the atmosphere .”

Literally right off the freeway is this little gem of a park...very historical in its past it is definitely worth the visit. Was there in the late afternoon and it was not too busy and it was good to see the people enjoying themselves. Dogs a plenty and wild critters to boot.

While driving north from Portland, we needed a place to stop with the kids. We stopped in Centralia because of easy food off the highway, but soon realized there was a park nearby. First, we drove in the wrong entrance and could not find the playground. Just baseball fields and historical buildings.

This is a review for Borst Dog Park. Two large areas for the pups to play. One large & one small dog areas. Large open spaces, a little dusty but not bad. No restrooms for people and no water for your dog. Be sure to bring your own! The actual Fort Borst Park is pretty cool.

★★★★☆ — Carmen , Jul 2023

A beautiful park and a fun learning experience for everyone. We learned so much and got to experience old-time traditions and the way people once lived. We were told to come back during lilac season. They said the path lined with blooming lilac bushes is incredible to walk through.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 19 mentions

“It did look like the lake could use some water and good cleaning but good place to even bring your dogs.”
