Confirmed from Fox Brook Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
223-acre park in a former quarry with a man-made swimming lake, paved walking trail & wetland.
What runners say about Fox Brook Park
“Clean, and you can use year round for the walking path and playground!”
“The occasional train driving through gives it an interesting and beautiful attribute.”
“There is a swim area for the dogs in one section and a nice walking trail around the lake.”
Wonderful, easy paved walk around the small lake. About 1 mile. Clean beach for swimming. Currently no life guard on duty. Nice, new playground. Small area for dog swimming. Plenty of picnic tables and ample parking.
This is Lucky’s favorite spot to go for a swim! With the weather changing, Fox Brook Park is also great for walks around the lake. Fall is the best!
This is one of the best places in the Milwaukee area for summer swimming. Its water is warmer than Lake Michigan, so it’s not too cold to swim here from Memorial Day to Labor Day. There are sharp-eyed lifeguards here, watching over everyone from small children to seniors.
This is such a lovely place to go for a walk. The trail is paved so very suited for all ages, walker assistance and wheelchairs. There is also a designated area for dog swimming. The lake and beach area are always frequented by families, which I love. I went with my dog yesterday while my other dog was in surgery.
Trail conditions & character
“Dogs are allowed in the grassy areas but not on the beach.”
“Best of all, there’s a spectacular 3/4-mile trail encircling the large lake, offering a variety of views in all directions.”
“The trail is paved so very suited for all ages, walker assistance and wheelchairs.”
“Nice bathroom facilities and air conditioning inside if you need a break from the heat.”
