We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Franich Park yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Franich Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (184 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 3 mentions

“Very neat and clean park, we went for strawberry picking but the season was over since we had packed the food was looking for a park and found this very nice park.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“This is a beautiful park across an elementary school.”

Small, yet sprawling residential community be park. Play structure for young children, as well as a 2 part off leash enclosed area for dogs. Several ball fields and restrooms. The park is accessable by car with ample parking surrounding the whole area.

This is a beautiful park across an elementary school. Nice safe residential neighborhood. Haven't seen a bum or vagrant here, unlike other parks in the area. It has always felt really safe to me. There are bathrooms, a volleyball court and separate playgrounds for toddlers and older children.

Keep your dogs on a leash, there is a guy who lives right there who lets his viscous pitbull run without a leash, I almost stabbed it because I have little kids and one bite is all it takes for irreversible damage. Other than that it's a nice park 🏞️

No lights¡¡!¡ its 6pm and its pitch black all around the park. Over by the dog park the one little light they have is at its lowest dimmed set. It really sucks that u cant even walk comfortable because i dont feel safe.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 13 mentions

“You would never know it was there, but if you can find the right street to turn on it opens up into a huge area with two dog parks, volleyball and baseball fields and more.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
