We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Struve Slough yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Struve Slough
A hiker's paradise. Lots of scenic trails. Hard to believe but this is in the middle of a busy shopping district with food, coffee shops and many other options. It does hot and the sun can be relentless depending on the season. Be sure to bring water and hats to keep the sun away.
One of my favorite places to go walking. Easy parking, about a couple miles of trail up and back. Pleasant people along the way. Many walk their dogs on leashes. Wetlands Upkeep regular by workers. Bird watchers and nature photographers often arrive. Blackberries galore in season.
Nice place to walk for exercise, and bird watch. No restrooms, so take care of business before you start your nice, relaxing stroll.
We walk here daily. It's beautiful at all seasons with different plants, wildflowers, birds and fowl appearing year round, and the city has been working on beautifying it with more plants. 4 stars instead on 5 because it could really benefit from new paving.
