Confirmed from Frank Holten Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Expansive, clean park featuring a walking path, barbecue areas, playground and a golf course.

Frank Holten State Park is a glorious, expansive park nestled on the edge of East St. Louis and easily accessible to the greater St. Louis Metro East community. There are several native habitats to explore and admire with some amazing plants and trees. It is home to diverse wildlife.
Love the scenery and the nice walking path. Always kept clean and the lawn is mowed. Great place to work out and socialize. My family used to meet on all occasions here.
Definitely got to see this park in a different light! Wish they had a dog area for your dogs to run in the beautiful open fields. So many scenic views. Back of the park to enter must have a hunters permit sign on gate! Restrooms many Picnic areas. 2 playground areas basketball courts. Fishing on the lake etc.
It's a nice clean park with a walking trail. Bathrooms are to the far east side of the park. It doesn't have a dog area. There are several barbecue areas and a secluded area to the front far west side of the park.
