Nice park for a moderate to easy hike, bring your boots. Portions of the trail are not cleared so it's easy to loose your way on the trail. But apart from that it's a great escape into wilderness in the middle of the city of Herndon
My family does a lot of hiking and so we pulled up AllTrails looking for a new-to-us-trail. This was close and other reviewers liked it. Parking was easy and plentiful. The trailhead was easy to find. There was lots of traffic early in, but it thinned out quickly.
A hidden gem. The parking lot is next to a school, and provides direct trailhead access. There is a nice network of wooded dirt trails totaling a few miles. Some trees are blazed with trail makers, but not all of the trails are well blazed. They are still easy to find and follow.
Beautiful and quiet. Wear boots. The trails are packed however there are a lot of roots to watch for and some rocky areas. Overall a wonderful place to walk, parking available at the entrance to the trail, and easy to get to.
