Confirmed from Lake Fairfax Park Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Lake Fairfax Park Trailhead
“🥾 Trail Experience The path is well-shaded, which makes it very comfortable, even on hotter summer days.”
“🌳 Scenery & Atmosphere What stood out most for me is the peaceful, shaded scenery.”
I’ve been to Lake Fairfax Park many times over the years—usually for the lake, picnics, and larger park activities—but this was my first time actually exploring this specific trailhead. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise.
So stoked to have come across this lil urban trail system! I didnt have my bike, but man I wish I did! Great lil flow trails and was so surprised at how well maintained and planned out the trails were, weaving throughout the Fairfax park complex. Seems like a great local spot to get your ride in on a lunch break.
This is an awesome trail for walking, hiking, running, biking, and birdwatching! The main trail appears to be a loop trail but there are also point to point trails as well. There is a good variety of easy to difficult paths along the trail. Highly recommend!
A very worthy network of trails, perfect for local mountain biking. There's nothing "epic" here, but you can find a nice mix of fun, flowy trails and the occasional rocky, technical hill or two. It's obvious that the trail is well cared-for.

“That said, the trail is not manicured or overly polished—it has some rougher patches, uneven ground, and natural obstacles like roots and rocks.”
“🚶 Accessibility & Trail Conditions The trail isn’t paved, so it’s not the best option for strollers or wheelchairs.”
