Confirmed from Freedom Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Public park offering basketball and volleyball courts, as well as play and skate areas, and a disc golf course.
What runners say about Freedom Park
“It is always clean and well maintained, and everyone is always super considerate.”
“This is a beautiful and unique park, with an unbelievable dog park.”
“I love walking my dog here, we spend the whole day here sometimes!”
Beautiful park with something for every one! It has a large playground for kids, basketball courts, volleyball courts, a skate park, walking paths and a large dog park. There are also gazebos for picnics and larger parties. I went on a cold chilly day, but when the weather turns warmer, I know it will be packed!
Love this park for tiring out my dog. However, if your dog doesn’t come back easily, it might not be the place as the dogs runs aren’t fenced. They are bordered by trees and bushes. There is agility equipment, plenty of space, some trails, and places for dogs to swim.
Love bringing the dogs to the open park and letting them run! Also we help during the Octoberfest and Judge the Steinholding competition! If you have not come to this event make sure to see it next year!!
I really enjoy how well most folks manage their dogs. We go during the week day when it is not very crowded since my dog is learning that not all dogs are going to try to kill her. 90% of folks have great voice control with their dogs and if on section is crowded, we csn just move to another section.
Trail conditions & character

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
