Confirmed from Freedom Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Hilly

Sports facilities, a sledding hill, and picnic areas are featured at this park.

What runners say about Freedom Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (140 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 4 mentions

“Perfect hill for kids to sled down and hockey rink and ice skating rink are well maintained.”

Great sledding hill for small kids since it fans out to the sides nicely. Reducing the amount of kids crashing into each other atthe bottom of the sledding hill. In the summer, there is a nice park by the school as well.

★★★★★ — Travis , Dec 2019

Very nice city park connected to the local preschool/community learning center. Playground, activity field, baseball fields, gagaball pit, climbing wall and a skatepark round out the amenities along with, of course, walking paths.

★★★★★ — Tim , Jan 2020

This has been my park since I was little and I've been coming here for 40 years! It's especially fun in the winter for sledding since it has a HUGE hill!!

★★★★★ — Sarah , Apr 2023

Great sledding hill without the suicide bumps that can end up sending you to the chiropractor. Lights were on the hill and the kids felt safe.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
