Confirmed from Freedom Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Popular hiking area with a partially paved, partially gravel, 1.5-mile trail that's good for kids.
What runners say about Freedom Trail
“Beautiful hiking trail that is easy to navigate.”
Great trail, friendly people on the same trek. Went in early May so there wasn’t too much wildlife. Could hear frogs, saw lots of birds. Especially Red Winged Black Birds. It is dog friendly.
Looks misleading with the start of the walk. But has some beautiful spots along the way.
This is about a 1.5 mile trail (each way) and has a rougher side trail that runs (mostly) parallel. It is mildly uphill from 7th to just shy of 27th (crossing 15th at about the halfway point). Overall it is pleasantly natural feeling, despite being in the middle of town.
Very cool place. Not a lot of people know about it. It has a little park area with toys for the kids but it has really cool paths to explore and a little Creek to cross on a wooden bridge of sorts. A great place to walk the dog, or take the kids in a nature walk, in town.
