Confirmed from Freeport Municipal Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Kid-friendly park featuring swings, slides, a playground, and a splash pad.
What runners say about Freeport Municipal Park
“There is a clean, cool & attractive, covered pavilion where you can sit & watch the river flow by.”
“Beautiful Park nice place to fish relax walk.”
My wife and I walk and work out here daily. The scenery of the river is really relaxing while taking a long troll. There's also places to throw a rod for fishing. If you've got kids, take them to the splash pad or one of the playgrounds the park offers. All together it's a pretty nice place to take the family.
It has play ground for the kids a swimming pool a pavilion for events a community house next to the River for special occasions a library a beautiful memorial for all who have served in the Armed Forces the police department is close by a basket ball court and a river for fishing skiing and enjoying and a walk area…
Nice play to walk or let the little ones play. There is a playground, several pavilions, a rec center, swimming pool, restroom facilities, and a walking path that leads to another park, restrooms, fishing ramp, and dock. There is also a few community building that can be rented. The library is also located here.
Stellar park next to river/lake. Nice sunset views. Very open space. You can fish here. I don't know rules but people do. They got playground and benches and tables. There's probably mosquitoes so take some repellant. It has a running trail which I like to do

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
