Confirmed from French Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Bucolic 275-acre park of woods, meadows & trails centered on an early 1900s mansion used for events.
What runners say about French Park
“I am a photographer and I use this park frequently for my sessions, and I've even gotten to see inside the French House during a wedding, and it is STUNNING.”
“Quiet and beautiful place to relax and walk around.”
Very nice trails, large creek with small waterfalls (beautiful icicles in winter!), large picnic area with distant views, playground area. Many of the trails are very muddy in the winter or in heavy rain. Bring your boots!
Made a hike trip at this park to catch up the last few days of Fall leaves. Quiet and beautiful place to relax and walk around.
I've driven by this park many times over the past decade or so and never realized how big and how nice it is. What a pleasant surprise to wander around on the trails. There's a wide variety of trails along / in creeks, through dense forest and meadow. The large historic house is neat to wander around as well.
My family loved visiting French Park. Spacious grounds and plenty of picnic tables. We liked hiking the trail that followed the creek. Lots of wildflowers and a variety of birds. We even saw a pileated woodpecker! The trail is secluded and quiet. I highly recommend a visit!

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain

- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
