Confirmed from Frenchy's Field/Santa Fe River Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Labyrinth and meadow featuring walking trails, dog-walking opportunities and a river trail.

One of the better parks in Santa Fe. It is connected to the Camino Real Trail (aka River Trail) and has a big parking lot, public restrooms, and has a bus stop right next to it.
Frenchy's Field is an easily accessible place to park, with nice trails that lead to the Santa Fe River walk. Beautiful flowing water this time of year!
I liked the trails at Frenchy"s trail and the only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because it needs to have more and good signs for the visitors who are not familiar with the trail or coming fir first time.
The Santa Fe River Trail is a gem! Close enough to be easily reached by a lot of central and SW Santa Fe and beautiful enough to keep coming back to again and again. The sunrises here are spectacular. When the river runs, it’s a delight.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
