Confirmed from Frontier Historical Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Public park on the site of a 19th century military fort with preserved buildings & a visitor center.
What runners say about Frontier Historical Park
“We were lucky that the bison were all hanging near the fence at the southeast corner of their pasture, and we could get great views and photos.”
A beautiful place for a short walk. There are several places to sit and enjoy nature or play disc golf.
Frontier Park has a variety of activities to choose from. Walk the many miles if trails along the tree lined Big Creek, play on playgrounds, explore thr stepping stones, check out the bison herd, picnic at one of several historic limestone pavilions or play dusc golf or one of the best courses in the Midwest.
Free/donation. Very interesting! Nicely set up. Short walk between each building. Easy way to really learn some history. Interesting for adults & kids!!
A very nice place to visit. Playgrounds for the kids, frisbee golf, and lots of nature to walk in. One of my favorite places.
