Confirmed from Gary L. Haller Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Gary L. Haller Trail
“I don't understand how a wonderful scenic winding trail like this is fun for that mass of manically peddling bodies.”
Great. Great. Great trail for biking. Did have a huge mass of speed cyclists startle me and the people by me. I thought that was a misuse of this wonderful space thus this review. I don't understand how a wonderful scenic winding trail like this is fun for that mass of manically peddling bodies.
Lots to see on this trail! Be wary of snakes in the spring summer and fall. So much wildlife to see and hear. Ride your bike, take a run, go on a nice walk, exercise the dog (on a leash), all fun things here. Right across the street from the off leash dog park at Shawnee Mission Park.
This trail is wonderful. So long, lots of access points, lots of parks with bathrooms and water fountains, lots of tree coverage. The terrain has a nice variety of flat vs hilly and straight vs twisty. The setting varies. It also connects to Clear Creek Trail. I hope they keep connecting to other short trails soon.
Great trail to walk if you want some elevation changes. Gives a pretty good view when you're at the top. It's peaceful there.
