Confirmed from George English Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Bayfront recreation area with boat ramps, tennis & basketball courts, walking trails & picnic area.
What runners say about George English Park
From sunrise to sunset, enjoy this scenic cove of nature, which doubles as a lazy marina where you can throw in some water sports on the Intracoastal. It's also a great place for a quick walk or an afternoon picnic. Thank you City of Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation!
Great spot. Two boat ramps. One closer to the front entrance and one in the very back. Electric bike rentals available. Kayak rentals available. Some seat benches along the walk path. Metered parking...pay by phone app option #82926 George English (boat ramp)
Fantastic Park with tons of iguanas running around. People enjoying the water. Even saw a pelican. Basketball court and tennis courts available. Plenty of parking but it's not free.
One of the most well manicured pubic parks I have ever seen. The restroom area was even immaculate. This was the perfect place to host Walk MS 2022.
Trail conditions & character
“Very easy to find more than plenty of parking and the picnic tables overlook the playground so parents can hang out and talk while still keeping an eye out on the kids.”
“Well kept and maintained park with tennis, basketball, pickleball (separate friendly and competitive courts) with bathrooms.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
