Confirmed from Glen Canyon Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

glen canyon park is a great place!! there are many children & families, hikers, students, & volunteers in the area. it’s overall very safe, & the 44 bus stop is conveniently 2 minutes away. the hike trails are also very pretty, just make sure to wear proper shoes because it is rocky terrain.

Great hiking area with nice changes in elevation and foliage. The paths and steps/staircases have been improved recently which really helps if it’s wet and muddy out. Very popular place to take your dog. The tennis courts and playground area have been renovated and it quite nice.

Glen Canyon Park has Zeus’s favorite trails, nestled adjacent to a charming small park near Safeway. You will see some nice rock formations on trails. The park also offers a diverse range of recreational amenities including a recreation center, ball field, and tennis courts.

Beautiful, serene hiking trails. A great place to bring your dog for a walk and a nice park for children as well. The community center at the parks entrance offers various classes for a low cost.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
