We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Glen Loch Dam yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Glen Loch Dam

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (134 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“They did a beautiful job of making the loch accessible to families and handicapped.”

Cool little dam with a river and little lake near by. There are also a ton of trails. They have a boat launch and kayak launch for recreational use as well as multiple docks for fishing.

★★★★★ — Brock , Sep 2024

There is a cliff face by the rivers edge. Just a short distance before the dam. Best place ever to take kids on nature hike.

★★★★★ — Ron , Aug 2018

Come for the dam, stay for the trails. There aren't any trail maps I could find but there is a lot of ground to cover. The dam is within Erickson Park, so there is plenty to see and do. I believe they also have a bison herd to look at. Picnic shelters and tables are available as well as bathrooms.

★★★★★ — M , Nov 2025

The Glen Loch Dam area is absolutely gorgeous. The trails that are around it are a nice addition to be able to see it from a different perspective. The fishing docks seem really new too and will be a nice addition to my summer plans.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
