We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Joas Park Nature Preserve yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Joas Park Nature Preserve
All other reviews are quite accurate, and I don’t have much to add. I even agree with the one and two star reviews. Hard to find, no parking, long walk on old uneven rail bed to get to trailhead. I consider all of these things as positives in the end.
Yes, it is a real place, but you must be willing to walk a half mile before reaching the preserve. Relax and enjoy the scenery. An old railway right of way gets you there, so be cognisant of what went on 100 years ago. Some beautiful old white pines, with granite outcroppings.
