Confirmed from Gordon Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This community resource with multiple sport courts & fields also features a kids' play area.
What runners say about Gordon Park
“The park has covered shelter with about 6 picnic tables, a fully functioning bathroom (mens/womens) that's always clean but not open until Memorial Day.”
“It's a park with a restroom, playground, gated splash pad with ample parking, plenty of picnic tables, benches and shaded area.”
Nice park with multiple amenities located just off the downtown strip in Lagrange. They have a walking path that leads by the baseball fields. They have a skate park for skateboarders. There’s a splash pad as well. On the walking path, they have multiple fitness machines for you to use.
Love this park. I bring my dog here and loves the open space. He loves walking on the various trails.
Very wonderful park, a great playground and walking path. My only gripe is the metal picnic tables could use some minor maintenance around them. That being said, there's a lot of space here, and it's right in downtown La Grange. There's quite a few slides, climbing areas, interactive bits, and even a kiddie table.
This park is great! Has a smooth walking trail, a playground, a splash pad, plus covered picnic tables and a bathroom. Best park we’ve been to!

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
