Confirmed from Gorge Stairs Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hiking area offering scenic views of the Whirlpool Bridges and the gorge.
What runners say about Gorge Stairs Trailhead
“Beautiful view of Niagara Falls skyline of Canadian side with Rainbow bridge”
“Pretty easy hike, especially going down the stairs near the Whirlpool Bridge and ascending a gentle incline on the old trolley bed back to the gorge rim.”
Amazing hike close to the Niagra River, right next to the whirlpool bridge which takes you to Canada. This bridge was also famous for the slaves from African-American community crossing over to Canada for their freedom via the rail; their journey upclose gives you a sense of how they must have felt at that time.
Beautiful trail. Great for hiking and walking. There are different trails to choose from.
A great trail along an old trolley track. Pretty easy hike, especially going down the stairs near the Whirlpool Bridge and ascending a gentle incline on the old trolley bed back to the gorge rim. Walk back along the rim and be sure to stop by DiCamillo's Bakery a short distance off Whirlpool St. and reward yourself.
One of the greatest and longest trail in Niagara Falls that will give you a real taste of life in the wilderness. The peace and relaxation of this park is amazingly unbelievable. Spend a day enjoying the view of the great Niagara Gorge and enjoy the sound of nature away from civilization.
