Confirmed from Grand Avenue Park Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Grand Avenue Park Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (29 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“All in all, it's a beautiful escape from the hell that is LA.”

Was a very quiet, scenic and overall amazing park. Took plenty of family photos and will definitely give the trail a go next time.

★★★★★ — Manny , Sep 2022

This trailhead is awesome. It starts at Grand Ave Park and goes in several directions. Keep in mind that these hikes start in a hilly area so the hikes will have inclines and declines for those of you with sensitive knees. All in all, it's a beautiful escape from the hell that is LA.

★★★★★ — Dave , Aug 2021

Went walking toward the back of the park. There was a gate and saw families and some e-bikers roaming the larger trails. We took a smaller and steeper walking trail and the long way around the beighborhood back to the park.

★★★★☆ — Angela , May 2022

Family's and pet friendly park. Nearly 1500 steps a round. Great place for the walks.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
