Google Maps took us to the wrong place. Look for the Milford Department of Public Works. The trail entrance is next to it. Parking can be tight. Very enjoyable walk. My son and my friend enjoyed it. My daughter grumbled most of the way.
Very flat, easy trail, great for jogging, kids, or older folks, or kinda out of shape folks who need an easier trail. The stream was very enjoyable to observe, there's an Eagle Scout project solar system that provides a great additional learning opportunity, a cool tunnel, AND there are beaver dams and a beaver lodge!
Very scenic, mostly wooded trail with a variety of terrain, all leading to a lovely little lake to stop and rest at and enjoy a little snack. Definitely need a helmet, and be prepared to carry your bike up several stairs at one point.
Was on the South Street segment of the Rail Trail this evening, not far from where it emerges where Union Street bends and runs parallel to 101A, when I heard a noise, looked up, and saw that I'd come within about 20 feet of a bear and two cubs on the west side of the trail.
