Confirmed from Great Plains Cultural Learning Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with a public restroom and walking trails, plus a museum and picnic areas.
What runners say about Great Plains Cultural Learning Trail
A nice little cultral trail across from the Archway. Decided to check it out a little while we wait for the Archway Museum to open...
This is a great place for a relaxing evening walk. It also has a bike pump and repair station available at the other end of the bridge that is free and available to anyone at any time.
This is our favorite walking spot. There can be a lot of cactus, so our dog wears boots. We always enjoy our walks and they have a nice bike repair station at the end of the bridge.
We went for a concert and it is a very interesting place to learn about the many trails that passed through here to settle the USA as far west as California.
Trail conditions & character
“There are benches along the path that were an Eagle Scout project in 2014 and because it is mostly paved or well maintained, it is wheelchair accessible.”

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
