Confirmed from Greenbelt Park Denton's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Greenbelt Park Denton
“It's not the most scenic walk, but it dos give some solitude.”
Update: It’s now open again. Walked to the train bridge this morning. The fee has been raised to $7. The road is gravel, unlevel in places and a little muddy after a rain, but it’s an easy trail for walking and biking. There are lots of hog and deer tracks, so be aware of your surroundings.
The trail is great. The terrain is mostly plain and wide. Great for hiking and cylcing or just walking. If you plan to longer hike you have couple of points where you can rest and return or continue further north. Only thing to be aware of is that the south most part of the trail has tendency to flood during the rain.
I wanted to try the southern entrance of this trail. It's gravel, with the river on the left side (You have to take side trails to see it, though). It was pretty empty when I checked it out. I didn't travel the whole path, but the three or so miles I checked out, going north, are pretty much consistent.
This was a really fantastic trail for a gravel bike ride. The first few miles were pretty rough, but I didn’t need to walk the bike for any of it. The trail was mostly flat, which made for an easy and fun ride. It felt pretty deep in nature, something that is hard to come by on a paved bike trail.
