Confirmed from Greenfield Dam Wildlife Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Kids-friendly, woodsy area with a lake for fishing and wildlife views, as well as trails for hiking.

What runners say about Greenfield Dam Wildlife Area

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (95 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“Beautiful, only stopped in for about five minutes to check it out after our grandson‘s baseball game, but we will be back”

This is a small lake that doesn't have hardly any amenities. The parking area is small and I didn't see any restrooms. With that being said, this is a wildlife area used for hunting and fishing. The lake and surrounding area is actually very scenic. There are some trails throughout the woods but nothing marked.

If your looking for a good place to take your kids fishing and want to stay close to lancaster this is the place for you. It's 8 min from Walmart and has trails to navigate around the pond with plenty of clear spots to fish. So far I haven't caught anything large but that's usually expected on public land.

★★★★★ — Adam , Mar 2021

Very pretty. If you want to fish though you have to walk a ways down a rocky trail and then around to find a spot. No shade in fishing spots that are close.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
