I have driven by the Cypress Preserve so many times, but never had a chance to stop and take a look. I finally visited on a Monday morning and it was a pleasant surprise. If you’re curious and love to learn about things, this is definitely an educational opportunity.
Were from ohio and wanted to experience a cypress swamp. This place was perfect we saw two blue tailed skinks. We saw some turtles and birds. We also saw a snake in the water in a hole it was really cool. The walk is enjoyable and just enough not to long not too short.
Beautiful area right down the road from the Welcome Center off of Hwy 82. 1/2 mile loop through the woods and more. Bridges take you through so many picturesque places. Bring your camera and bug spray. There will be mosquitoes, lol.
Great morning walk. Very interesting and informative. While staying down here from Illinois to work at Mars factory, my wife looked up cool things to do and found this for me. What a great find and so close to the hotel and "casino". I'll stop by to see next time I'm in the area and see some seasonal changes.
