Confirmed from Griffin Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Public park offering a playground, picnic areas, and skate park, plus tennis courts and a swimming area.
What runners say about Griffin Park
“There is also as well-kept center with bathrooms and shower facilities.”
“Nice quiet place to camp, can’t beat the price and you’re literally a hop skip and a jump away from the water and anything else you can think of!”
Staying 3 nights for South Dakota Senior games. This park is well maintained. The campsites are on a flat gravel “parking lot” with electricity and water at each site and a dump station. Each of the 16 sites also have an aluminum picnic table. View to die for… right on Missouri River.
If you love sports you will love this park by the Mirrouri River. It has a baseball diamond, tennis courts, basketball courts, skateboarding, swimming, boating, hiking and biking and I cannot forget the great fishing. The Pierre waterpark is also located next to the park.
Staying at the campground. Very nice place to spend the night while traveling. All gravel and flat right near the river and bike/walking trail.
Loved my stay here in our RV. Walking distance to down town. What a BEAUTIFUL PARK! Would stay here again most certainly.

- SurfaceCrushed gravel — the rail-trail classic: softer than asphalt, still smooth enough for tempo work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
