Confirmed from Steamboat Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Riverfront park and disc golf course featuring playgrounds and a covered picnic area.
What runners say about Steamboat Park
“The park is clean, quiet, and is one of my favorite local areas for photography and painting.”
“Also great views of Fort Pierre across the Mirrouri River to the west and great views of the auto and railroad bridges.”
“😋), restrooms, historic landmarks, boat ramps, and even an island with miles of secluded and peaceful forrest walking.”
The park is clean, quiet, and is one of my favorite local areas for photography and painting. During the winter when the river freezes over you get nice blues with a good sunset scene. During the spring and summer, there's always been a vibrancy of greens.
Not spectacular. But no doubt one of Pierre's best features. It can be accessed from almost any part of the city that touches the water. They have a paved path that follows the river with little work-out stations and benches for resting throughout.
We played disc golf here while on vacation. The park is large, well maintained and shady. There is plenty of free parking, walking trails, bathrooms and water access. There is an entertaining 18 hole disc golf course featuring cement tee pads and hole markers. The course is laid out on fairly open mowed grass.
A very relaxing park located on the south side of Pierre. Great sunsets for you photographers and a great area for a casual walk in the park on the cement walking path. Also great views of Fort Pierre across the Mirrouri River to the west and great views of the auto and railroad bridges.
