Grizzly Peak is one of my very favorite hikes in the Rogue Valley. It's really, pretty easy and the views are breathtaking with Shasta, Pilot Rock, Mt. Ashland and so much more to see at the summit.
This hike is so gorgeous. Lots of mushrooms, plants, and trees to identify. The trail can be muddy after some rain which will slow you down. It’s beautiful hike and the views at the top are so amazing and worth the effort. I’ve been here a few times and it never gets old.
Fun hike! Only about 4 and 1/2 mi long A little bit of elevation but not bad. About three decent lookout points halfway around the loop. Saw a brown black bear (turns out there are only black bears in Oregon which is ironic given the trail name)
Beautiful hike, beautiful day. Still some tricky patches of snow and slippery mud, but otherwise a very doable hike with stunning views of Mt. Ashland, Shasta and McLoughlin (Pitt). Highly recommended.
